Overview

Working alongside Star Quality Swing Sets, I produced a long-form Customer Journey Documentary following the Scouten family from their first consultation to the day their custom swing set was installed.

This wasn’t just another testimonial — it was a full storytelling piece designed to shorten sales cycles, build confidence, and give potential buyers a professional, cinematic look at what it’s really like to work with Star Quality.

The Challenge

Star Quality wanted to help families feel confident investing in their dream backyard swing set — but standard testimonial videos couldn’t fully capture the trust and transformation behind their process.

They needed a story that showed:

  • Real customer experiences from start to finish
  • The care and detail in every build
  • The emotional payoff for families when the set is finally installed

The Strategy

I pitched a Customer Journey Documentary — a hybrid between a testimonial, a “how it works” explainer, and a brand story film.

Guided by the StoryBrand and Green Launch frameworks, the goal was simple:

Show, don’t tell. Let real families become the story that sells.

Every moment was planned in advance: pre-production scripts, interview questions for both the sales team and the customer, location planning, and a multi-day production schedule.

The Process

Over the course of several months and five total filming days, I captured every major milestone:

Filmed with the Sony FX3, Mavic Air 3S, and secondary cameras for varied coverage, the project combined cinematic visuals with documentary-style storytelling — from sit-down interviews to real-time, unscripted moments.

The Result

The finished film runs just under 13 minutes.

It now acts as a sales tool, a website centerpiece, and a trust-builder for Star Quality’s marketing.

The documentary gives future customers a clear, emotional, and transparent view of what to expect when they work with the company.
