PrivacyWhat I collect and what I do with itUpdated August 2026

A privacy policy you can actually read.

This is a one-man studio in Strasburg, Pennsylvania, not a data company. I collect very little, I do not sell any of it, and everything below is written the way I would explain it to you on the phone.

What I collectWhich is not much

What information do you collect from me?

+

Whatever you type into the contact form, which is your name, company, email, phone number, and what you tell me about your project. That is it. There is no account to create and nothing hidden in the background collecting more.

What about analytics and cookies?

+

This site uses Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager, which sets cookies and tells me things like which pages get read and roughly what part of the country people are in. It is aggregate traffic data and I cannot tell who you are from it. Webflow, which hosts this site, also sets a small number of cookies to make the site function.

Can I turn that off?

+

Yes. Blocking cookies in your browser, or using any standard ad and tracker blocker, will stop the analytics from loading. Nothing on this site breaks if you do that.

Do you use my information for advertising?

+

I do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anybody, and I do not add you to a marketing list because you filled out a contact form. If I ever start an email list it will be something you deliberately sign up for.

Photography and footageThe part most policies skip

What happens to photos and video of me or my staff?

+

Anything shot on a project is covered by the agreement we sign before the shoot, which spells out where the footage can appear. If somebody on your crew does not want to be on camera, tell me on the day and I will work around them. That happens on most jobs and it is not a problem.

Do you use client work in your portfolio?

+

Yes, unless we agree otherwise in writing, and that is covered in the project agreement. If something needs to stay private, whether it is a product that has not launched or a customer who would rather not be featured, say so and it stays off the site.

Where are the files stored?

+

Working files live on my own drives and in the tools I use to deliver and review work, which currently means Frame.io and Google Drive. Delivered files are yours. Source and project files stay with the studio unless a release is arranged separately.

Your rightsAnd how to reach me

Can I ask you to delete my information?

+

Email hello@stumpandroot.co and I will delete your contact form submission and anything else I am holding, other than records I have to keep for tax or contract reasons. No form to fill out, just ask.

Who else sees my information?

+

Me, and the services I use to run the studio, which means Webflow for the site, Google for email and analytics, and Stripe for invoicing. On larger projects a crew member may see project files, and they work under the same expectations I do. Nobody else.

Is this site meant for children?

+

No. This is a business site for business owners and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If a child has submitted something through the form, email me and I will remove it.

What if this policy changes?

+

The date at the top of this page changes with it. If something material changes for existing clients, I will tell you directly rather than expecting you to notice a new date on a web page. Questions about any of this go to hello@stumpandroot.co.

Still wondering something

Ask me directly. I answer these myself.
